What Is Scrip?
Scrip is a very common fundraising technique, used by many schools and
other charitable organizations. Through this program, you are able to
buy gift cards that are redeemable at various stores, at face value (i.e.
you only pay the amount that you would normally spend at the store). Mt.
Tabor will then pay a discounted price to get the cards to you, thus leaving
the school with a profit ranging from 2%-26%, depending on the store's agreement
with the program. The success of the program depends on all of you... the more you
participate and buy cards, the greater the potential profit for the school.
